South Centre
The South Centre aims to promote common interests among the countries of the South while recognizing and reflecting their diversity.
The South Centre encourages coordinated participation by developing countries in international fora dealing with South-South and North-South matters related to development. It supports LMICs to take ownership of tackling AMR in their countries and supports the engagement of civil society.

South Centre member countries which are also Fleming Fund countries: Ghana, India, Indonesia, Pakistan, Malawi, Nigeria, Sri Lanka, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Vietnam, Uganda and Zimbabwe.
Objectives
- contribute to global processes on AMR through direct participation and oral or written inputs from the South Centre, to promote common interests among the countries of the South
- build partnerships and undertake activities with Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) to raise awareness of the importance of AMR and need for action
- bring together AMR focal points from human health, animal and environment sectors and CSOs to support a regional One Health approach and increase their engagement in AMR actions
Activities
- organisation of CSOs to contribute to processes at the United Nations General Assembly including the Inter-Agency Coordination Group recommendations on AMR and the High-level meeting on Universal Health Coverage
- organisation of meetings and briefing sessions with developing country health missions in Geneva, Rome and New York
- publication and communication to raise awareness and provide information
