South Centre
The South Centre is an intergovernmental think tank that aims to promote common interests among the countries of the South while recognising and reflecting their diversity. The South Centre supports coordinated participation by developing countries in international fora.
The project contributes to raising the awareness and developing the capacity of policymakers and civil society groups (CSOs) of low- and middle- income countries (LMICs) to take actions to tackle the growing crisis of AMR.

South Centre member countries which are also Fleming Fund countries: Ghana, India, Indonesia, Pakistan, Malawi, Nigeria, Sri Lanka, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Vietnam, Uganda and Zimbabwe.
Objectives
- increase awareness on AMR among high level officials and key stakeholders
- support Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) with advocacy and input to global, regional and national processes
- foster exchange and learning on NAP implementation
- collaborate with other agencies to enhance global governance on AMR
Activities
- Contribute to global processes on AMR through direct participation and oral or written inputs
- Build partnerships and undertake activities with CSOs to raise awareness of the importance of AMR and need for action
- Bring together AMR focal points from human health, animal and environment sectors and CSOs to support a regional One Health approach and increase their engagement in AMR actions
- Support CSOs to make contributions to processes at the United Nations General Assembly and Quadripartite agencies (WHO, FAO, WOAH, UNEP)
- Hold meetings with developing country health missions in Geneva, Rome and New York
- Publication and communication to raise awareness and provide information
- Regular meetings with the Quadripartite organisations to exchange information and areas for cooperation
